Which Watch Brands Hold Value

Watches are used for practical purposes, for aesthetic purposes and for collectibles. The watch brands that hold values are there to remind us of how much a single object can be almost a work of art. For some people, it is an indispensable timekeeping device and for others it is a symbol of status and achievement . No wonder luxury watches are the head connoisseurs of this accessory.

Check out which watch brands hold the most value in the world.

Rolex has remained the most valuable watch brand in the world, according to the annual ranking prepared by branding consulting firm BV4 in Zurich. Valued at $5.57 billion, the brand is followed by Cartier, which ranks second with $3.23 billion. Omega follows closely and completes the podium, worth $3.19 billion.

Rolex  Submariner

Brand value: 5.57 billion dollars

Rolex is the world leader in luxury wristwatches. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, but is based in over 4,000 jewellers in over 100 countries. The company’s signature model is the world’s first waterproof watch, launched in 1926. Some of the most famous athletes sport branded products, such as Roger Federer and Tiger Woods. According to company data, an average of 700 watches are sold per year in Brazil alone!

The most expensive Rolex is the Rolex 6284 “Two Americas” which is a model made by the brand in collaboration with Marguerite Koch. This model was only produced 6 copies in 1950, these are watches in yellow gold 18k, which reveal the displays of North America and South America. One of these watches was sold in Geneva in 2011 at a price € 197,230.00.

Balancing historic strength with forward-looking vision, Cartier remains the luxury home that is “known to many, owned by the few, and dream for all.” To have a Cartier watch, like the Santos 100 Floating Tourbillon model (piece made of white gold, with sapphire crystals and a crocodile leather strap), you need to pay from R $ 247,300.00.One of the most expensive watches of the brand is the Cartier Tank MC 18K White Gold Diamond Watch HPI00623, with a value of $ 903,605.

Brand value: $ 3.19 billion

One of the watchmaking giants, Omega has gained brand recognition worldwide, and even beyond. The famous Speedmaster Professional ‘Moonwatch’ accompanied the Apollo 11 crew to the moon in 1969 and became the first and only watch to be worn on the lunar surface. The company’s products are known for their iconic design and accuracy.

Patek Philippe

Brand value: $ 1.68 billion

“We never own a Patek Philippe. We just keep it for the next generation”as the famous saying goes, commonly associated with the brand. Patek is not among the world’s top sellers in the watch segment – it prefers exclusivity to a few who can afford the expensive price of its products. The company maintains deliberately low production levels, and had among famous customers scientists Albert Einstein and Marie Curie.

The company was founded by Antoni Patek Adrien Philippe in 1839. The company’s headquarters is in Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland.

One of Patek Philippe’s most expensive watches is the Patek Philippe Henry Graves Super Complication, which took three years to design and five years to produce. The brand was known for having introduced innovations in the watch, such as perpetual calendar, chronograph and double chronograph. The watch was purchased in 1999 by an anonymous buyer at an auction for $ 11 million, and is currently on display at a museum dedicated to Patek Philippe in Geneva, Switzerland.

Gents Swatch

Brand value: $ 1.18 billion

In a territory dominated by history and tradition, Swatch has added innovation and modernity to the Swiss watch map. Born in 1983, the brand is still associated with contemporary fashion and design. Their watches are often colorful and pop art elements. The brand’s watches have an average price between $ 190,00 and R $ 705,00, much more affordable than other Swiss watches, which cost, on average, $ 5,000 and up.

Brand value: $ 801 million

From Marie Antoinette to Winston Churchill, Breguet was famous for being a choice of distinguished clients. Founded in 1775 by Abrahan Breguet, the company is one of the oldest in the business, with its first wristwatch produced in the year 1810. In addition to luxury watches, the company also manufactures jewelry, writing instruments and cufflinks.

Over the decades the company has changed ownership several times and currently belongs to the Swatch Group since 1999.This is the invention of a mechanism that compensates for the influence of gravity on watch parts. Their models easily exceed the price of $ 150 thousand.

One of its most expensive watches is Breguet et Fils No. 2667, originally sold in London for 5,000 francs in the year 1814. But in 2012, during an auction it sold for $ 4.7 million.

Brand value : $ 751 million

Nothing better to feed the glamor than to become a charm for the top Hollywood celebrity, right? Chopard has earned a reputation for attracting luck to Oscar nominees, who each year reinforce the tradition by climbing the red carpet with branded watches and accessories – and come out with a golden statuette. It’s the little known “Chopard Oscar Winners Club”. Members include actor Colin Firth and actresses Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz and Charlize Theron.

One of its most expensive watches is the most coveted Chopard 201 carat, valued at $ 25 million.

Audemars Piguet

Brand value: $ 688 million

Audemars Piguet is one of the undisputed giants of the watchmaking world. The brand started producing mechanical watches in 1875, and today it is perhaps most famous for its Royal Oak sports watches. The original was the first stainless steel recognized as deluxe – an unthinkable proposal in 1972 but now common. The pilot Rubens Barichello is one of his poster boys.

One of its icons is Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Grand Complication, which costs around $ 741,000.

Brand value: $ 681 million

Celebrating 180 years of birthday last year, the brand became famous for models such as the Reverso line, which became iconic. Inspired by the Latin word “return”, its most famous creation was announced in 1931 as a clock capable of surviving the clashes and turbulences typical of games like the polo. Considered an Art Deco classic, Reverso is still manufactured today.

As a model of this brand, we can mention the Hybris Mechanica to the Great Sonnerie, watch which costs 1.47 million dollars.

A watch that carries a name is worth more than a watch without. Tradition and reputation make an ordinary watch an extraordinary one. For example, during World War II, British officers had their watches confiscated. When Rolex founder Hans Wildorf discovered this, he offered watches to Allied prisoners based on “ask now, pay when the war wins.” More than 3,000 watches were shipped this way, and Rolex’s reputation rose rapidly. A watch is something whose legend must go beyond yourself.

I wish to read even more things about it! I’ve been browsing online
more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting
